Solitary chicken - need advice

Hi newbie here

 

I am planning on getting a cube later in the year I have been reading the older posts about leaking cubes with interest and its got me worried. Has this issue now been resolved I would hate to spend all that money (its close to $2000 here in nz for the cube with the attached run) and find that it leaks. Hoping you can ease my mind.

I'd be interested in the reply to this because someone on Instagram has just warned me away from a Cube for this very reason. I was surprised because everyone on here is always very complimentary.

I have a cube and have not had any problems with leaks, especially after all the heavy rain we have had lately.

I am sure I saw a thread on here that an adjustment on the side brackets stopped the leaking, not sure if the bolts were being done up to tightly.

I upgraded from the classic which I loved, but would not go back now as the cube is so much easier to clean. It also meant that I got a case of " morehens" disease

Although I do still have the classic just in case any more chickens happen to pass my way

Mine leaked when I first got it - just over 7 years ago now - it leaked through the vents on the side but I think it was because the wind blew the rain in so hard.

 

It hasn't leaked since, although the other day I did notice the rain had collected on the ridges just inside the egg port door and therefore fell in when I opened the door

 

I would buy another cube over anything else and agree with Ursula123 at how easy it is to keep clean.
