Yes Luvachicken,it nearly seems every week a part of our past disappears. I suppose if you are similar age to me, late 50s,it was really the start of Saturday night family entertainment and these people in some way touched our lives. My memory is good decent entertainment, Morecombe and Wise,Generation Game,Sunday Night at the Pallidium. All a bit dated now,but I have fond memories of my parents, sister and I watching these shows and wow, when we got colour TV how thrilled we were.

My sentiments exactly! Fond memories of all gathering round the TV after Saturday supper watching all of the above; it was a real ritual. With each of these 'national treasures' that we lose It does feel as though my childhood is slipping further away.

Was listening to Jackie radio  this morning (radio 2 had gone AWOL) and the DJ said worth watching the Ronnie C and Harry Enfield spoof. Can't do links but Google both names and watch YouTube. It's not as good as 4 candles but watchable. From 2010. Harry can't keep a straight face but Ronnie ever the professional kept a straight face.

They used this sketch on the news yesterday and it involves a real blackberry fruit being placed on the counter and Ronnie saying he couldn't get his blackberry to work

It is a hilarious sketch and as soon as I saw it, I remembered watching it.

Poor Denise from ITV too, never watched her but I get the impression she was very kind.
