Cat tails
My two are doing fine after Cinnamon left them. But I do sort of want to get a third. Just rang the boarding place (childrens petting zoo) to arrange boarding for the summer. They also breed their own chickens including Dutch bantam. Some might be pure breed, others are hybrids between all sorts as he has a great number of chickens running loose. He has a number of chicks running around right now, that will be old enough when they go for boarding. I think it might be easier to let them do introductions as mine will be on unfamilliar grounds and the hen will be on own turf. And I won't be around to feel guilty! redsunset
Almost cruel to get just one?.....I'm with luvachicken......think you need two, as at least it would have a wee pal......jus saying ..
Cat tails
Will see. I only have my little standard Go Up run, so I don't want to overcrowd it. Luckily Dutch bantams are tiny... So maybe... It is also up to the guy at the boarding place. See what he has left over in June. I think he wants to pop in a cockerel during their stay as well. He adores my little New Hampshire babes and I think he wants to make a few fertile eggs. The cockerel might help with the introductions though. Lewis
I love Dutch bantams Good luck choosing - hopefully your chicken sitter will be able to sort the introductions for you ready for them to come home together
