I like ticking clocks too

I do like them but they need to be of the right sound otherwise they are annoying. Where we lived before, we were near a rail-line, a dual carriageway and had planes flying over. The chimes helped tone down the dual carriageway noise, otherwise it was just constant traffic noise. I did try to remember to take them in when it got windy though. Our friends bought us a gorgeous set of small brass coloured pipes which sound lovely. I hate the really noisy, clonking ones. Headache inducing.

Oh gosh ticking clocks! I don't mind them unless it's in the bedroom and then we have had to take batteries out or stop it somehow so that I can sleep. Add that to dripping taps and snoring husband.

They drive me nuts (along with ticking clocks)

 

I think it comes from being bored at old relatives houses and all you could hear was the clocks ticking, very, very slowly

I'm not keen on ticking clocks as its an audible reminder that my life is ticking away

 

We have a dehumidifyer on the landing and I don't mind that whirring away at all when I am trying to sleep - FAR prefferable to a snoring (or worse ) husband.
