your work reminds me a little of Georgia O'keeffe, I have a print of her 'Black Iris'.

If you live in Brighton, could you maybe sell your work at one of the galleries in 'The Lanes'?

The pomegranate one is mouthwatering

Hi, I've been really busy with uni recently and havent been able to sort anything out with prints - the one place I knew of shut down so im having to look somewhere else. The trouble with galleries is they tend to want a few paintings and i only have 3 - i'll put a photo of the latest up in a bit.......I did contact someone via e-mail about displaying in a gallery but she never replyed so i guess they aren't the right kind of thing or something - kind of annoying as I really wanted some feedback about the best way to go about displaying etc but nevermind!

Have you tried getting yourself signed to a company like Washinton Green? :?

They do loads of contemporary art and I think your work would fit in really well there 8)

Washington Green have artists on their books like Govinder, Paul Horton, Mackenzie Thorpe etc so they may be worth a try :D

Thanks for that - I had a look on their website but it all looks a bit professional for a part time beginner like myself. I've e-mailed someone from a local art group for some advice on how to go about displaying, what to do etc so hopefully I will get a reply. So far no-one seems to want to help me out - those that I e-mail for advice never bother to reply which is very frustrating and just makes me doubt myself which is not helpful :(

Wow just caught up with this. Do not underestimate yourself they are simply fantastic. You MUST NOT be put off by a company's professional look. Phone them and find out what they have to say. The worst thing would be a rejection but you would be in the same position you are in now and you never know you could be in a much better one. Living in London I see all sorts of artwork all over the place. If you are interested in selling your work try restaurants especially good ones. I reckon they would love that sort of contemporary work on their walls. With talent like that the sky is the limit. And I bet you'd paint that really well.

Dont ever doubt yourself Rachel, not with talent like that! :shameonu:

Put a portfolio of photos together and send them out en masse to all types of arts centre, publishing companies and galleries. Someone is bound to get back in touch with you. :D

How about asking your local library for some exhibition space? Im sure its free and then your work will be up for all to admire and someone might spot it there.

How about in a local shopping centre or store? :?

Have you considered selling your work at a local craft market or similar? :?

Knock on as many doors as possible! 8)

Thanks for the reassurance - I will try all the restaurants in brighton again in a few weeks time when my exams for this year are over.......have a very hectic term at uni this time and dont think i'll have a chance to do anything but work! There is an open house tour around brighton at the beginning of March and a couple of my old art teachers are displaying work so I might pop along and harass them for a bit to see if they can help me out!
