peckham
I want to make the beeswax polish but Im stuck in the house at the moment - does anyone have any good web sites for things like beeswax and real turpintine? Thanks Dawn
Cate in NZ
I got my beeswax from ebay- bargain at 99p Turpentine I found harder to locate, and ended up buying it from Robert Dyas. Not sure if they have any mail order service though. Good luck with it, home-made polish is lovely, smells gorgeous and the shine lasts for ages
Mrs Frugal
Hi Dawn, You can buy Beeswax from here I've not used them before but it looks like a great site so may do in the future! I don't know where to suggest getting real turpentine from. I get mine from an old fashioned hardware shop locally - Bird Brand Turpentine. It has to be real and not substitute so don't attempt to use anything else.
Guest
Oh I would love to have bees in the garden! Thats a lovely site... very tempted by the 'beginners kit' ... Had a quick look on ebay and have bought 16oz of beeswax from hellsgrannie! Now I need further receipes for moisturises etc as its slightly more than I need for polishing Have now found turpentine on the web by searching for PURE turpentine... Thanks for your help Dawn

Mrs Frugal
That's fab Dawn! Terrific site isn't it - I'm not allowed to look at it as I'd also love bees but LSH won't let me!! Glad you've been successful in your hunt for ingredients!
Guest
Kate - one of my daft questions but I know you will know the answer. Would a beekeeper be likely to have bees wax or is it treated in some way before it is sold. There is a bee keeper in the village, so I could take a deep breath and knock at his door if I knew the answer. I don't want to have to hide out if I am the village idiot you see! Lesley
I think a bee-keeper would be only too delighted to chat to you Kooringa, even if he hasn't got any beeswax left. It wouldn't hurt to ask - he may know someone who has:D
