river cottage in 3 days

Recommended Posts

Laura, we travelled to Cornwall with Stefan when he was around Seth's age. We left at 7pm after we had bathed him and got him ready for bed, we then put him to sleep in the car and he slept the whole journey. Had to be really organised and ready to go around 7pm (I spent the day packing and loading up the car) but it made ours and his journey trouble free. It meant booking an extra night, but it was great. We all got a good night's sleep and we were refreshed the next day. We did this for Jimmy's Farm last april too.

Otherwise, if you are travelling during the daytime, make sure you have lots of stops, at least one an hour to let him have some fresh air and a wriggle about. We always take a picnic blanket, flask of hot tea, some bits of food and set up camp outside on a piece of grass at the services (weather permitting) and let Stefan have a roll around.

RC sounds like a good trip! Hope you enjoy it. Take lots of photo's for us

:D

Rosie has always travelled and has mostly been good at it. Like Gina says, it's down to being organised and taking plenty of books/toys.

Rosie was the youngest bridesmaid at a friends wedding when R was just 6 weeks old. The two of us travelled down to Devon, with me making stops to feed her; we went to the wedding and the reception (where she was handed around like pass the parcel) and then stayed over night before driving back the next day.

Laura - you've got friends in high places!!! Tell us the story?!?! I'm sure your bit of influence will go a long way for the BHWT!

i recently had a long chat with a guy called darren, and he said that the organisers arent that keen in celebs etc.

wow- what company is it?

tbh i dont pay that much attention to mingling that much, dont have the time.

sometimes theyd buy you lovely gifts though. :)

I work Freelance for the main high street childrenswear retailers. Most of my bread and butter, so to speak, comes from quite boring jobs like creating prints for T-Shirts etc of the main favourite characters on the TV. Not very artistic really...but it does have it perks. You get to go to the launch parties of new characters and meet them and the people that 'work' them and the creators etc. It's all good fun, and the Beeb really know how to throw a party.

I know what you mean about the present too

Gina, was it you that went to the launch party for the teletubbies? Someone I know went, but I can't for the life of me remember who it was now. Brain like a blooming sieve, me!

It was Shona. It was brilliant. It was in a secret location that we had to travel to by coach with the curtains drawn! I'm sure we went round the same roundabout a few times just to confuse us more!

It was a truly magical day. The party in the evening was the stuff dreams are made of. They got us all to stand on the Teletubby Hill and then the magic started. They had acrobats and ballerinas floating in the sky (?) a string quartet on the hill side, a shepard guiding his sheep, the teletubbies doing their thing of course, giant rabbits and the final surprise was so great - they made it snow. It's really hard to explain the emotion. I guess the wine helped too
