Debbie1962
I keep getting these strange white marks on one of my eggs. It's usually the largest eggs laid so probably from the same hen. They don't come off when washed. They get a bit lighter but that's all. Any ideas?
Cat tails
I think the shell producing apparatus of this hen might be a bit off. It can happen with older hens that are to the end of their laying period. Or with very young hens that just started laying. Not much you can do about it, other than provide enough calcium by giving grit and layer pellets. Debbie1962
They are all about 9 months old.
Beantree
It may be excess calcium, so clumps on the surface of the egg and they don't affect the eggshell itself. Nothing to worry about as we have this for time to time. No health issues ever associated with it, so I think nothing to worry about Debbie 1962. soapdragon
We have had supermarket free range eggs with the same....I wouldn't worry that there is something wrong at all!
