Has anyone got any different coloured ones off their postie? Coz ours are all red & I just thought we could do a rubber band swap!!!

Someone told me that they are biodegradable but I am not so sure - but they do have a different texture to other rubber bands so maybe???

 

The postman told me they can only re-use them a few times as they start to disintegrate, so perhaps that is true?

It does annoy me though that they leave them on the path for animals to pick up and choke on.

I just googled - they are biodegradable but it takes a long time 'up to a year' (there is even a Hansard entry about them!)

What a great post! We seem to find pink elastic bands on our door step most days (the postie seems to use our doorstep to do a bit of sorting out ). I've got a great idea what to do with them all now!!!

I've brought home the ball I had at work . It was languishing under a desk, so my new ball is the combination of my home ball & the work one.

 

It doesn't half hurt your fingers stretching those bands to fit

I was thinking about you and your ball yesterday Jules. I walked past the PO sorting office and saw a brown elastic band on the ground. I then realised that I had not seen any red bands for ages. I was wondering if the PO had stopped using them or if they had instructed posties to stop flinging them around everywhere?
