Poorly chicken

My hens happily lay eggs in the nesting area, but one hen roosts there at night too, making a poop mess. I tried a homemade barrier, but she still slept there and got pasty butt because her tush was up against the barrier. Any suggestions on keeping the nesting box clean for the eggs?

I place an upside down plastic plant pot in the nesting area when I don't want them roosting there. But you will need to remove it in the morning, so they can lay.
