Flood warnings ....

Recommended Posts

we're too far inland (we hope)

keeping fingers crossed that everyones ok

having looked at the maps we're closer to the danger areas than we thought but should be ok

If anyone in Norfolk finds themselves needing to get out quickly you're welcome here even if its just to recover before moving onto stay with family

I heard on the news that they evacuated some of Great Yarmouth as a precaution :? Luckily my folks place is 3.5 miles inland. Wells, Blakeney and Cley are up the coast from us and very flat, with dykes to keep the sea out and salt flats behind them - that area always gets flooded

I hope that Richard is OK - he's right on the coast and has a boat too - so it could be tricky for him

They are saying that they have competly closed off all roads to Yarmouth today. How bad is it turning out to be?

We have clear blue skys in Norwich today, windy though. My otherhalfs dad works off shore, and departs from Lowestoft, I bet hes having a fun time right now. Where are their maps of the danger areas bonze?

Listen to the radio this morning, the warning seems to be down most of the east coast, as the tidal surge is beign squeezed by the narrowness of the north sea along that area. germany and other places 'over there' are affected too and have flood defences in place.

I'll have a look at the BBc site and see what's going on.
