Olly
That was another favourite with the cubs, as I recall - and it also has nice movements with it!
The Dogmother
Yup, Rosie always used to love doing that one. I might try it tonight and see if she remembers the words and actions.

Egluntyne
I wouldn't be impressed....but it is inevitable I'm afraid. Claret's suggestion that you offer to take a couple of hens and some eggs in is an excellent one. Uou could give them a little talk. I did it last year and really enjoyed it. My friend tells me that the children still talk about the "Hen Lady!

gooner.girl
I have a great song I learned when I was about 3 my mum was a nursery school teacher and she taught me it It goes: "Ooops, word censored!"ody loves me Everybody hates me I think I'll go and eat worms Big fat juicy ones Small lean skinny ones See how they wiggle and squirm Bite off the head Suck out the blood And throw the skins away Everybody wonders how I can eat them One, three times a day Shall I go away now Ahhhh! My dad taught me that one! (along with lots more equally silly ridiculous ones - worrying thing is i can still remember all the lyrics to the ones he taught me... )
Guest
Oh I learned a lot of songs from my Dad. Mostly rude but rude as in music hall rude rather than outright filth. I also not only learned the words to Colnel Bogey from him but the words to Blaze Away too!
craftyhunnypie
I'd have been horrified if any child of mine sang that! Macdonalds should be banned & KFC, well!!!! Can't believe a school would be teaching that, just shows the intelligence of the teachers there! Not only is it educating young ones to sing it all the time, it's educating them with the wrong sort of eating places! What happened to cute songs? Oh no, they have to teach them about flippin' things we want our children to stay away from! Disgusting! Hows about singing..." Tomato, tomato, a piece of lettuce & a chookie egg!" Perhaps you should teach her that instead! Emma.x
The Dogmother
I'm working form home today with Rosie, whose cold has got the better of her - she tells me that the McD etc song is by a group called 'The fast food...something'. She knows the song, but hates it.
Guest
Its the Fast Food Rockers The girls wear VERY short skirts too. I downloaded the video when I used it in a lesson. I really love this kinda song, any silly song with any silly dance is good for me - I don't consider the words to have any more meaning or signifigance than those of Agado. My favourite silly song and dance is Wig Wam Bam - watch a dance floor fill with old band members after 2 notes of this one. Oh it takes me back. And yes, I do always join in at all the kids parties... HEY - I've realised there IS something I enjoy doing with small children. Mind you I have several video's of teenagers dancing to this kind of tune in one of my lessons (yes they do get work done as well - I get fantastic results and a lot of loyalty from my pupils - we work hard and find some time to play too!) Guest
Nah he wouldn't like it - my lessons are the only ones like that. Acutally I mentioned doing that kind of thing when I was interviewed for my new job, its one of the things that I think makes me a good teacher. I don't always play by the rules but I do make it clear that what goes on in my classroom is not expected to go on elsewhere. Because I teach so much optional ICT I see classes for 6 lessons a week and they are mostly boys. If you don't build up a good relationship with classes like that then you don't stand a chance, too much testosterone can lead to so many different tensions. Oh and I am so awful with names that even the ones I see 6 hours a week need nicknames for the first 1/2 term - by which time they have stuck. I have 2 this year who are Big Geek and Little Geek! I can call them Geeks because its ICT - even the cool kids have some geeky elements in an ICTclass.
Guest
the song is surely 3 (or possibly 4) years old - my daughter had it on a CD when she was much younger. it's a catchy (annoyingly so) tune - and has actions - which explains its appeal. I doubt it is the only song they are being taught, it hasn't made my daughter into a battery hen fan (in fact she is now a veteran chicken rescuer and a vegetarian) but she loves doing the dance - perhaps "ironically" now she is at secondary school. It's a fun, tongue-in-cheek, spoofy song about fast food... surely variety is the key - and I can see how this song would fit song/dance/movement/exercise - much like others have said "Agadoo" would (which is hardly educational in it's content (but then neither is Humpty Dumpty or Mary had a little lamb) best song my kids learned at school went: To stop the train in cases of emergency, pull on the chain, pull on the chain, penalty for improper use five pounds (as a round) we still sing it on trains.... Krysia
The song is way older than 4 . I remember singing it at achool (Didn;t know what Pizza hut was back then as there were non locally) but we did all the moves. One of the 'Fast food Rockers' who made it famous was in the year below me at school. Funny though as everyone thinks its their song nut I sang it before her, just wasn't desperate enough for the fame to sing it nationally. For all you Eurovision fans it last years entry was by most of the original fast food rockers!
