The Dogmother
I hope that you find her owners Jem. No worries Fee, I was just going by her headgear and legs - they look youngish.

The Bantam of the Opera
im afraid ive become too attached to little cleopatra (i changed her name) in the night ive known her. shes very funny with bags of character and she loves roosting so ive stuck an old mop handlethrough the eglu bars for her. also she scratches in slow motion which is very funny to watch. ill happily give her back to her original owner but if not im goign to keep her. :D
Egluntyne
Cleopatra suits her! Let's hope her owner doesn't turn up!

The Bantam of the Opera
haha! im inclined to agree with you eglutine. however, i wish she would get along with one fo the other groups of chickens. i have such trouble introducing new chiceksn because i dont know how serious i should let fights get before i seperate them. im getting my little sister to do it for me. shes more mature about these things than i am. i run in at the first sign of a disagreement. Egluntyne
It will take about three weeks for her to be accepted by the others. I'm sure you have read all the advice before on the forum.
The Bantam of the Opera
yeah ive been through all that before. i found it very useful.she was free ranging with herro nd the buffs earlier, they werent trying to attack her they were just ignoring her and she followed thema at a distancce but they wouldnt let her eat from their food bowl. she had to wait till they went elsewhere. i put them all in to sleep together and ive checked up on them and i think theyre gonna be okay. ill let them out extra early tomorrow so there arent any punchups. im so happy things are working out. The Bantam of the Opera
yeah my mums freidn has asked all around where she lives and i even checked with the guy who lives near her because he has chickens but his were all rhode island reds. i was thinking she couldve come off a farm? do people keep this breed on farms? we kept a load of these at woodside and they didnt have their wings clipped, could be one of theirs taht escaped, they werent afraid of humans either. chickencam
You say that she scratches in slow motion do you think that she may have escaped from a poultry lorry of intensive farm or chicken dispatching place Have you any nearby? Karen & co.
im not sure, ill ask my mum, what are they and why is scratching in slow motion a sign of this?is it bad? I don't know I'm afraid but one of my girls scratches around slowly while looking around her, almost in a 'I'm not doing any thing' kind of way they dives in for the bugs, and carries on as before karen x

nicki9
Have you tried phoning local vets to see if anyone's asked there? Only Balti escaped on Friday, and we phoned the vets to ask if they had heard anything, 2 hours later they were on the phone saying a man had called who had found a chicken. She was about 1/4 of a mile away! We were sure a fox would have had her, we were so lucky.
