Omleteeers who have been on here for ages may recall me getting all air-i-vated when Covent Graden Soups brougth out quiches... all the usual guff about them being hand made by virgins on remote isles etc, but the eggs weren't free range. We put them under so much pressure on social media that they saw the light and changed them.

Sainsbury's Deli Counter (not pre-wrapped on shelf) sells Premium (? I think is the term) Scotch eggs. I’m sure they used to be described as Free Range Egg in British, outdoor bred pork etc. etc. - premium product, premium price - but tasty ! Today I noticed the Free Range term wasn’t there – server said they weren’t FR eggs - VERY disappointed. I have asked via Facebook if they are FR or not and they can't tell me ! I'm sure they used to be described as FR (as I ALWAYS check) - so if they have moved away from FR that is a very bad step. Rant over!

Still icy and some frozen slushy snow on our road this morning but main roads were clear. However, I don't do main roads on the school run so just took it very carefully - having driven the same route each school day for the past 9 years I know which bits get dodgy although am still annoyed by other drivers just carrying on as usual. Got overtaken this morning by a zonking great 4 x 4 something which then had to brake hard for a corner and went slithering sideways, thus proving the old adage that size doesn't matter

I had a row of young herb plants, basil, thyme, rosemary, parsley and lavender just inside my patio doors. Ready to plant in my new herb bed herb the weather improves. Opened the doors to air the house after washing the floors then went upstairs to clean. I forgot the chickens were out. They’ve had the lot and rubbed the mud into the mat 😔 Preseasoned chicken anyone? OH has been kind and cleared the mess after their party but was he sat in the same room looking towards the doors but didn’t notice the making the mess 🤔

Even if not for that specific reason I’m afraid that is what’s happened with regards to all domestic / farmed animals
