One Man Banned
How is the sale of the house going lesley - we've really started gathering estate agents details - I've found a nice place in Lincoln (2 acres) with a gorgeous farmhouse for £300K-trying to convince Joe to move 1hr from his parents and 6 from my mum before we up sticks for Scotland. Stratford COULD be a compromise though.....your garden was quite big wasn't it Lesley? Love the piggies by the way - one day....one day.... Lesley
Phew!! - I've only been away for the day........... Annie P - is it the Pig Paradise course? it is well worth going - a truly inspirational day The Herd123 - I'm glad you enjoyed the ups and downs of our dream - we still can't believe it has happened. Andrew - we are having quite a few viewings at the moment - haven't seen your name though - garden wasn't big enough for pigs though, so you'll probably have to keep looking We could do with the money from the sale so that we could have a load of skips and clear all the rubbish ClareT - yes please - could you collect some cream for me and I'll sort out with you on sunday?. Lesley
I've posted a separate topic with the following info. ........... The F Word Starts again tonight - Channel4, 8.30pm Gordon Ramsey has had pigs from the same farm that we bought our two little Berkshires from. He has kept them in his back garden as he did with the Turkeys. Programme makers and the owners of the farm were taking bets on whether he would actually be able to go through with his plan for producing pork for his restaurant - I don't know whether he did or not. I don't know whether the farm and the vet are in tonights programme or next week just before the Royal Show is on.

Lesley
I have got it on Sky Planner Annie (- along with Location Location ) I will get Carl to sort both out this morning and let you know if we can get them to work on different machines. I think we need to 'finalise' the disc but haven't had time to find out how. They showed the farm and the lovely people who own it, and his children all held tiny piglets. They've sectioned off a 7m x 10 m area in his garden to house them so I suppose next week they will show more. As for the rest of the programme - If I hadn't have been waiting for the pigs, I wouldn't have bothered watching it. What is the point of showing GR at 8.30 when every other word has to be bleeped Next week, it's on at 9pm There was a wonderful bit in the advert break - I presume it was a trailer for a later programme? - two men were discussing GR and his show and saying "you don't get Delia saying'here's a *%$%^&^&^%& sponge cake I made earlier' do you?" - best bit of the night! (apart from the pigs of course)
AnnieP
I think Delia has been known to swear a bit in the shareholders' box of Norwich City Football club when she's had a sherry or two... and the Canaries are losing.....

Lesley
Electric Fence Training for the pigs - I have to say, the girls were quicker to work it out than the boys were Tomorrow we will extend the electric fence to make a temporary paddock for them. Karen & co.
I bet the boys made a heck of a racket when their little snouts touched the fence karen x
Lesley
Um....... it's not so much their snouts which touch the fence - and then they look at me as if it's my fault The two little girls have had their area extended but are not happy to venture beyond where the fence used to be - nothing would have stopped the boys if they wanted to get to their food

buffie
We've been to lesley and carl's today ..fan bloomin' tastic. They made us most welcome with Claret. It's lovely. All the piggies are so happy and well cared for. Given time and yes hard work it will reap the rewards! I look forward to our next visit...lovely people with the right values BBx
Lesley
Thank you Buffie - it was lovely to see you all. Annie - it was only muddy because they were in a small area They now have the extended area and are out there now, contentedly eating all the grass. Outdoor, free range pigs root up the earth like little rotavators. The boys just dig up their patch with gay abandon - heaps of soil and deep holes everywhere. The girls are carefully grazing their area first (scoffing all the chocolate!) and then have a root around. I can't believe how different they are - there are only a few weeks between them and we collected the boys at the same age. The boys were friendly from the first day - the girls are timid and wary. The birth of more kittens is imminent - Willows sister is very round and her belly nearly drags on the floor. The third sister has disappeared and we think she may have gone off to have kittens somewhere. I have now secured some help with the cost of neutering, through the RSPCA but only because someone knows someone who knows someone else....... I am going to phone around the vets today to see if any are more helpful than the sister practice to the large animal practice which we are using for the pigs. They are very helpful with the pigs - perhaps because there is far more potential to make money from us
buffie
Good luck with the kittens, I had a cat box in the car because we rescued a fledgling dove on saturday. That could have been very dangerous with the sound of meows all the way home I'd love one of willows sisters kittens ...... I wonder Buff xxx
