Christmas do.

Recommended Posts

Him Indoors has just come in from one of the many Christmas bashes he is forced to attend. I declined to go to this one. I'm sick of the sight of mushroom risotto!

Anyroadup....he was frozen practically solid. To his astonishment it was in a marquee on the carpark of the hotel.

He said there were heaters, but that there was more heat in a cigarette end.

All the ladies were in what he describes as "gownless evening straps" and they were dithering and acquiring that marbled effect.

The food was rubbish too apparently. I'm glad I didn't go.

Brrrrrr! sounds awful !!

We are at my sisters babysitting - they have gone out to her Chistmas works do. We have spent all night playing board games and singing "Singstar" on the playstation (have sore throat now), have had a great night and kids have gone to bed happy.

Id much rather stay in than go out. :)

As I pass those racks of black, sparkly/velvety slinky dresses in the shops - I breathe a sigh of relief, because I DON'T have to go to any Xmas parties. I have done my fair share of shivering, hobbling in painful heels, eating rubbish food and drinking lots to get through the evening.

This year we have a team lunch (which we have to pay for ourselves), and I will go to that as I really do have to. And that's it!

I am having friends round to mine for drinks, which will not require anyone to dress up and will involve delicious food cooked by me (with a little help from St Michael  ) lots of wine, Pimms Winter Cup etc. And I am going round to some friends for similar evenings. Staying in is the new going out, doncha know!

Ooh Chickencam, I hope you are recovering!

I went to a 'do' at the Hyatt with 3 colleagues/friends the other night. For some reason the wine was really strong and I only had 2 glasses, I felt awful when I got home.

We are going back there next week for our office Christmas lunch, I will be staying away from the alcohol

I'm remarkably ok today actually. A bit shaky and a headache coming on. I drank loads of water over night and started the day with a boiled egg after letting the chooks out at 8am. Nothing like going out in the cold to freshen you up.

It was nice to let my hair down for once but I wouldn't want to do it too often.

I had trouble typing my post last night

Thanks for the good wishes :D

Him Indoors dropped me off at the station this morning. There was a "Tommy Cooper" style gold fez in the car, with red and blue moons and stars on it, from last nights "outdoor" Christmas do..

He forgot to take it off and drove home wearing it!

I'm surprised he wasn't stopped and breathalysed.

Oh went to a work do on Friday and his deputy, Samantha, and a guy from the office were all over each other like a rash despite the fact that the guys partner was there!

I refused to organise a Christmas do this year as at last years do 6 out of 10 members of the team were so drunk they could hardly stand and needed taking to the loo and struggled to sit on their chairs without falling off. The 4 sober staff, me included as i was driving, were dying of shame in the restaurant and had the most terrible evening. My boss and I swore then - NEVER AGAIN!

Might invite the boss and his wife over for a meal on Thursday night instead
