I thought that too!

Well done on the website, you're far better than I would have been at your age if the Internet was like it is now! :D It is scary that when I did GCSE IT (1997) the Internet was some new thing in our school you could play with if you had finished your coursework, and only one or two computers were on it!

As it's related I thought I'd share my new

website

Sorry Oliver, hope you don't mind, but I thought it might fit nicely into this thread.:wink:

Our siteis OH's new pet project, and is a website that can be edited by anyone viewing the site in the style of Wiki the online encyclopaedia. I know there are a lot of you who know a lot more than I do about chickens so you are free to add to/edit the site, or add comments.

You can have your own blog, although to be fair most people here have either 1) got their own website , or 2) could get an omlet one if they wanted. You can however read my blog and create a link to your own blog by editing the page.

I find navigation confusing sometimes, but if you go to the menu on the left and click on "homepage," or "help" you can't go far wrong.

I thought it would be really good if people posted pictures of their various breeds of chicken, and wrote something about the breed/their experiences. The breeds section is fairly blank at the moment.

Enjoy

:D

:? - when I took my 'O' Levels - calculators were a new-fangled invention and we weren't allowed to use them.:oops: Computers were unheard of.

Brilliant sites both of you. I've had a site for over a year which is still empty

I find it easier to get my OH to write it, and I just do the easy bits like the actual text!

My Gran didn't know how to use a calculator as she had always added up in her head/on paper, scarey when you think about how short a time things like the Internet have been around, it feels like it always has been there. :?

Don't forget the abacus girls

Well, now you come to mention it, we did use an abacus in a few maths lessons at secondary school. I think it was just to teach a principal (possibly base 10 :? ) We also made placemats out of cardboard and plastic to learn about shapes fitted together, we used hexagons and sewed them together like a patchwork. What fun maths was
