yeah it does look like that!..yeah our garden is quite big for london , and we will get a few more soon!...also i hear that having male dogs is a bit of a deterrent for foxes, well i was hoping anyway!..we allow them out most of the day when we are here which is most of the time and they go to bed themselves at around 4.30..and our dogs are out pretty much all the time aswell if they want to be..

nothing is 100% safe though where foxes are concerned, we only let our girls out when we're there to oversee them.

Your chickens look lovely in your garden Cheryl!

But do be aware that London foxes are very bold, as soon as they get a whiff of your chooks they will be there in the daytime. Hope your dogs are up to a challenge!

yes, i am aware that the foxes are quite brave and cunning...we do keep an eye on them, as best we can, i must say we have never had any foxes in our garden , but then we've never had chickens....i do hope nothing bad happends to them, we are as vigilant as possible, fingers crossed..

 

my husband has gone chicken mad, he's sitting down now in our lounge with a chicken book i got him for christmas, making chicken noises, he does it everytime he sees our chickens...is this normal behaviour? ha ha

a male dog will help allot at detering foxes but only if he isnt nutuered as if he is he won't go around peeing to mark his teritory. we live in london too and we havent had a prob with foxes, yet . just make sure you shut them away in the cube at night so the foxes, if they come can only smell your chooks not see them.

I miss my Pepperpot so much since we lost her to a fox. I now have a Suffolk Noir, which is similar.

 

I haven't any dogs, but the girls are very interested in my house rabbit, Azzie, who is allowed into the garden, supervised. Toffee in particular is fascinated with him and follows his every move. He seems oblivious to them now, after being disgruntled that they took over "his" lawn.
