Joojoo
The only time I really listen to music is when I'm doing my daily ablutions and then I put on one of my (several) Billy Joel CDs. Because I've listened to them so many times, I put them on random play so I don't know what track is coming next I never get tired of Billy I agree the 'Piano man' works for me too, , Kev, note my new avatar Poet how did you make your lovely avatar? I tried to do something with mine but it looks horrific
Couperman
Except Eva Cassidy, was Dads favourite when he died and we played "Over The Rainbow" at his funeral, 7 years on and I can just about keep the radio on when they play her but if they play that track it has to go off. Ditto, for my mams funeral we wanted the original Judy Garland version but we couldn't find a copy in time, (we didn't get much warning.) I do tend to freeze when I hear it. Her favourite song was a George Michael track (also played at her funeral) Hadn't ever listened to the lyrics before and now struggle to listen to it. I really loved Eva's version of 'Fields of gold' but Cancer Research UK put that to bed with their over poignant adverts featuring disappearing relatives, I now prefer the original Sting version. I do still listen to Eva Cassidy's songs, she had the voice of an angel and I get upset that she died so young. Kev.

BeckyBoo
Kylie in July, Counterfeit Stones and Midge Ure in March I have rediscovered a Wheatus album from a few years ago and will have this playing very loudly in the car on Tuesday when I go back to work Wow! I used to love Midge Ure, saw Utravox several times in my youth, he was my hero! Was particularly gutted when he snogged any girls inhis videos, but was marginally appeased wen my name appeared in a question in the fan magazine. That Cancer Research advert had us turning over - in fact Mum stopped watching channels that showed it. Dad was always frightened of dying but he opened up to his nurse when he asked her to put the Eva Cassidy CD on, he said about how she had died so young and that he shouldn't be so afraid because he'd had a good long life etc (he was 72 - but fit and healthy till the cancer got him). Cinnamon
I hadn't been to a concert for years & years until my eldest dragged me to see The Kaiser Cheifs & The Pigeon Detectives a month or so ago at Earls Court. It was amazing - I am predicting big things for The Pigeon Detectives this year This year I would LOVE to see The Killers (If they are touring) or My Chemical Romance, & I might even be going to the Reading Festival The daughter is seeing Scouting For Girls locally, but she is going with her mates & I have been banned from attending that one
lisa33
I am listening to 'The Heroin Diaries' by Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue). It's superb!!! Once I have finished reading Slash's Autobiography I will be reading Nikki's book. Should be an interesting although harsh read. No gigs lined up at the mo but may have to go and see The Presidents of the USA in April.
Clash City Rocker
Siouxsie @ Wolves civic in march. Just got back from Brighton, been to the "Strummerville" fund raiser at Brighton Komedia, all proceeds raised go to the Joe Strummer Foundation currently planting trees on scottish islands and building recording studios in inner cities. A really great album at the moment "Untrue" by a band called "Burial". and don't forget (as posted before) a band called "The Courteeners" are coming (honest) the next libertines/oasis.
