newlaidegg
Not only did Gladys lay me an egg but it is a delightful shade of pistachio!!!!!! Suddenly the eggs with no shell are a distant memory! Three eggs in a day - it's a miracle (Quiche for supper) Hurrrrrrraaahhhhhhhhhh for chickens!
ktdot
Yey! It doesn't matter how long you've had them, every egg is exciting!
chelsea
how She must have been practising on those soft shelled eggs! Here's wishing you many more hard shelled green eggs in the future
jomaxsmith
Well done that chook! Just for the record, did you do anything different to her diet to encourage hard shells? Jo

newlaidegg
Thanks guys, for the record I didn't get around to doing anything different with the chooks, Gladys just suddenly seemed to find her own way! I promise that I will learn how to upload my camera one day... soon...maybe... and that the first picture I will post will be here. I have decided that pistachio is a less than accurate description of Gladys' eggs more Farrow and Ball, Cooking Apple Green!!!!!!!!
Ain't Nobody Here
Is yours this kind of green?
chelsea
thats a very classy green!
Ain't Nobody Here
Why thank you (on Maisie's behalf)! You made complimentary remarks about Maisie's eggs when she first laid .... Its a lovely colour,....reminds me of some of that very expensive tinned paint you can buy and ususally see in Manor houses/stately homes and which would have a very posh name! Farrow and Ball paint? it's a perfect description
chelsea
I think it would look quite nice in my kitchen! wonder what B & Q would do if you took maisie's egg in and said "match this"?!!

newlaidegg
p.s. It does look suspiciously similar in colour to yours although I'd need a paint chart to be absolutely sure!
