Shirl
You could have had another cube for the £500.! Good luck. We're supposed to be calming her down not winding her up
Cinnamon
I have just booked a break at Centerparcs to cheer myself up, & to spend the £500 when I get it

The Dogmother
Too right! You don't want to be on my list Can I just apologise now for any comments I may have made in the past or may make in the future that have caused/might cause you any offence or embarrassment . Actually, I reckon you're unembarrassable . Am I right? You're right there Vicki! Sarah - you go for it - that is really negligent and irresponsible of him. The main point is that he has let his friends down, so they will probably think twice before inviting him on another jaunt. But you still need to get your money back. WitchHazel
You have every right to be mad. Before you threaten the small claims court, I would suggest that you contact him - ideally face to face as it's harder for him that way - to point out that you have paid £500 on your credit card and to ask him how he intends to pay it back. As he's out of work, be prepared to accept something each week/month, but let him know that he will need to pay interest as well, as whilst you are very sorry about his circumstances, you can't afford to be out of pocket. If he sticks to the arrangement, fine. If not, then it's time for the small claims court.
craftyhunnypie
Cinnamon - I know how you feel. When we went Goa for our wedding ceremony. The original bridesmaid backed out because of a possesive boyfriend, the standby got pregnant & was adamant that she wasn't going, so I ended up having one of my sisters friends who was an absolute nightmare on holiday - moody etc etc. We did lose a lot of money with all the changes of plans & names. Really, really unreasonable. I was fuming at the time, but those people all got their come uppances in time! What goes round comes round Cinnamon!!! Good luck Emma.x
little chickadee
thinking of you - what an awful thing to happen. At least you're not in serious problems because of this jerk - I just hope you manage to get your money back. I suppose this is a lesson to us all. I had a friend have this happen to them with concert tickets - they only lost £70, but it still hurt.
