redfrock
very quick and simple question really! A couple of the girls have started to moult. Won't they get a bit chilly in this weather? Will they be at risk of a chill? I wouldn't like to be running around naked in this weather
Egluntyne
They all seem to do it! Mine moulted spectacularly from late Oct and are only just looking glam again. Give them extra protein in the form of scrambled egg, tuna (rinsed and dolphin friendly) organic cat food or chick crumbs. It does make a difference. There was a conversation on the forum the other day about the differences in protein content of some of the above. **here**
Cinnamon
Daft things, aren't they? A couple of mine moulted in November ,but they seem to keep themselves warm enough by bimbling around during the day & snuggling up at night. Keep them topped up with protein & maybe a little chicken spice for a vitamin boost
chocchick
Mine moulted Nov/Dec. Abbie got a bald neck and shoved her head right down into to her body when there was cold wind. They did look pitiful
