James 'made' me join the forum - at No.122 - same day as Kate I just need a purple Eglu now - to match my new car! That'll be nice . Glad you were forced onto the forum Lesley and Kate, do you think you'd have been keen otherwise? I would never have imagined me being on a forum, not something I have ever been interested in and I suppose that's it, this is my interest and the friendships grow from it. Hugs all round BBx
Mrs Frugal
I wasn't forced like Lesley because I didn't know James then. I just "happened" upon it during a random read of the website. I'd never heard of a forum before and joined with trepidation but I'm so glad I did. I've made so many terrific friends, learned heaps and had THE best time here with you all. You're all fab ! Louise
I'm 193 and why did I do it I got some chickens eggs and hatched them and then thought where am I going to keep them I thought long and hard and went for the eglu because it suited MY needs perfectly The rest of the chickens went to a farm and I think the boys are all gone but most of the girls are still around some got taken by a fox last year but such is life

angelfire
Ali-S that house is perfect, I so want to live there. Well I am no. 965 even though I have had chickens since Nov 2005. I wanted a pet that I could cuddle and stroke. I am allergic to dogs and cats- which is absolutely awful as I love animals- so they were out of the question. I then thought about getting chickens because I have a budgie who is brill ( plays football, hide and seek, talks and recognises words). and I am not allergic to him.. My OH came in one day having seen an eglu in the paper and the rest is history!! I so love our chickens They make me laugh and smile everyday! Lesley
That'll be nice . Glad you were forced onto the forum Lesley , do you think you'd have been keen otherwise? BBx I didn't even know what a forum was - and I really didn't want to do it Sooooooooo glad that I did - as Kate says, so many new friends and helpful advice. The early days were such a steep learning curve - Kate and I soon learned about PM's and a lot of these went back and forth. There were very few forum members in the beginning and we struggled to keep things moving. We'd say "I've got a topic for the forum - I'm saving it for a quiet day" - now we don't get chance to keep up with all the new topics and all the new sections And then there was the day when we were told off for going 'off topic' - Kate and I sulked for days James' solution was to make us both Moderators - as you can see, it worked really well - we never go 'off topic' now
Mrs Frugal
I'd forgotten about us getting told off! I upset poor James by saying I felt like I'd been sent to the headmaster, bless him !

buffie
I upset him as well - I told him we'd resorted to email and were boycotting the forum I remember you telling us that Lesley and boy have they learnt not to mess with a lovely bunch of 'gals' like us. Off topic...we may go off topic but we soon come back on topic again, even if pants and bottoms seem to be the topic of most threads
Cinnamon
Nothing wrong with pants & bottoms! They are a common link between us all Oh,those & the chickens of course
Nicola H
I remember the telling off too I had only just started to use the forum and the only people around were Sarah Jo, Lesley ,Kate, Motherhen, Janet and me.............Somebody shopped us, they came on the forum for a quick look at the postings and found 100's off topic put a stroppy posting on the forum and told James. At the time James was the only moderator so didn't get chance to look at each posting so he set up the nesting box and put the chatter boxes in charge of moderating.....................I don't think we saw said forum member again I can't even remember who it was...............................We all felt like we had been told off by the headmaster and emailed each other instead......... I am just glad lots of nice new forum members have joined and that we can have a chat in the nesting box............And go off topic in just about every other subject too..............
