Kenwood chef- WHAT MODEL SHOULD I GET?

Recommended Posts

It doesnt seem to have. It just shows the bowl, K and whisk (I'll buy a dough hook too). Well I assume if its not usable then I can complaina sit says in full working order apart from that and I'm happy to use a wooden spoon if it saves me a whole load of money (its local to me so no postage)

I have 2 KCs. A 901 (about £30 off ebay) and a 707major (£10 on the flea market). The major lives in the shed and is only used for making Xmas cakes as the 901 is big enough for most things and it fits in the kitchen cupboard (the major is too tall). I couldn't bear to part with either of them, they're fab. The old ones have metal innards which is why they are so reliable (and so heavy!). I think it's only the professional range that are built to the same standard now.

Don't have a plunger for either of them though!

I have a sausage making attachment for mine. It's really cool making your own sausies.

The pasta making dies are good. They have been manufactured so that they leave a slight roughness to the pasta (making it more authentic) so that the sauces coat it more evenly.

I think the 701 is older. Only certain attachments fit. The 901 is slightly newer and all newer attachments will fit (I think). The 701s and the attachments seem to be cheaper (if you get one, I have a mincer that I bought cheap on ebay, but was the wrong fitting for my 901  )
