Jules.
Seize the day !!!!!!!!! You'll love it - it's for life not just for Christmas' - Wet towels in washing basket, toe-nail clippings on floor - toilet seat up - clothes on floor................ ITS GREAT !!!!! I share a house with 3 males. That's why I insisted on getting a soft-close toilet seat in our new bathroom. No more leaving the seat up or banging it down in my house
Ain't Nobody Here
Lovely stories . Nice story on Five Live this afternoon. Chap proposed to girlfriend 24 years ago. She accepted and he said let's have a long engagement . Today, she put a card in his lunchbox asking him to marry her. Phoned Five Live as he hadn't responded & she knows he listens to it between 1 and 1.30pm. Later reported, he said yes .

Janty
Apparently (according to the story our deputy head told the children) if a lady proposes to a gentleman on 29th February and her proposal is declined, the gentleman has to buy the lady something made from silk. I was proposing to everyone today. Can't wait 'til Monday. Silk scarves here we come! Mind you, my stingy technician said yes. Don't quite know what our husbands are going to say. MedusA
What a fab story Mrs. B! Yours too Ana! Restores my faith in the male of the species! They try to pretend they aren't romantic. Who are they trying to kid? Good luck to anyone who proposed today.

Christian
Why don't you text him Christian? After the brain tumour in Jan last year, the NO fat diet since Christmas and the gall bladder surgery next Monday, I think he has been through enough! What do you reckon? Would it tip him over the edge?
BeckyBoo
NO NO, it will be just what he needs!!! Go on, go for it!!! (double dog dare ya!) But only if it's what you want,m she says on a sensible note. Mrs B
Tessa the Duchess
What do you reckon? Would it tip him over the edge? I agree with Mrs B. it would be a lovely thing to do. Think of all the planning that would need doing, what to wear, what to eat, who to invite, music, flowers etc., would give him lots to think about instead of the horrid op. Go for it!! Fingers crossed he says 'yes' Tessa

Snowy
Grrrr ..... for some reason my server has been down all day today, it finally gets going and I find out I've missed a great conversation So .... .... Did Pengy text Clash? .... Has Mrs Bertie booked that honeymoon yet? .... Did Jase say yes? And I'm bumping this one because it can't go unanswered ... Single women are more likely to commit suicide than married ones according to today's paper. I find that herd to believe. Me too, but that's because we know what it's like from this side of the fence! Edited to add: and I've just realised Egluntine made a typo! Egluntyne
So I did!! At least I use punctuation, capital letters where appropriate, and occasionally throw a bit of grammar in for good measure .

We are both pedants then. I insist on using "proper" english for text messages too! None of this "C U L8R" rubbish for me! Makes me spit. I even have a journalist friend who uses text-speak. It makes me so angry.
