Cinnamon
Just 15 minutes after putting a poster up advertising my eggs,I have sold my first half dozen OK,so it was to the neighbours over the road, but even so I am grinning all over my face Extra treats for the girls I think...... Louise
Well done sarah I have so many eggs at the mo I may have to pop up the hill to see someone but I am not charging for them - yet
Trish
enough eggs to be able to sell them now there's a strange idea. We have enough trouble keeping up to in house demand
Cinnamon
We are still getting little half-size eggs from the new girls,so we are using those & I am selling the bigger ones. Averaging 4 a day, which is quite a lot,& I still have 2 girls who have not started laying yet. I don't think I am going to make my fortune, but figure that if people are eating my lovely eggs rather than horrid battery ones, its got to be a good thing I am giving some away too,but only to people I really, really like I am really looking forward to passing walkers popping in,& I may even start hen visits for the children too The Hubby reckons that people will start refering to me as the mad chicken lady soon

Cinnamon
I suppose there are worse names I have now put a gorgeous big bunch of daffodils in the porch next to the sign to attract passing trade I LOVE daffs
Hellcat
Me too! Theres nothing like daffs to put a smile on my face. My garden is awash with them now. 3 years ago, the year after we moved in, i planted hundreds in all the beds and some in the lawn. Its taken 3 years, but we now have a sea of them in the back and front, and I LOVE 'EM! theres enough to cut for vases too!

chocchick
That's really nice Sarah. Sorry to lower the mood, but as thread on selling eggs. I am so Took 6 eggs into work and no-one (out of roughly 20 people) took any (FREE) so took them home at 5.45 rotten Maybe I need daffodils
Martin B
That's unbelievable who could turn down FREE fresh eggs!
chocchick
I'm hoping they were just too disorganised to take them away straight away, wouldn't surprise me. If they look for them tomorrow Not impressed

Sheilaz
Took 6 eggs into work and no-one (out of roughly 20 people) took any (FREE) so took them home at 5.45 rotten I think I know why, Chocchick! If 20 people saw one box of eggs, they would feel greedy, or embarrassed to be the one person to take it! A bit like "Ooops, word censored!"ody taking the last roast potato, or last slice of cake. (Well, not in my house, but you know what I mean) If you intended 6 people to try 1 egg each, they either didn't realise that, or didn't know how to carry it home. No, I think it being one box on offer was the problem. No one likes to be the first to say, and they're all too polite. People follow like sheep sometimes. Have you ever been at a wedding or party and the buffet is ready? 100 people will wait for the first person to go up...then the rest will join the queue. Unless my OH has been invited! So, if you feel inclined to try again, maybe take 2 or 3 boxes with 4 in. Perhaps a small charge in case people feel embarrassed to take them from you, you can always give it to charity, if you intended them to be free. Or put it towards the food & some treats. ....just thought, they weren't worried that you were going to start talking about the chickens were they?..... Martin B
Good ideas as usual Sheila!
chocchick
I brought them in before and they managed it. There are several spare boxes in the tea room, unless they are too u"Ooops, word censored!"servant to realise this (surely they are obsessed with chickens too! ). Er You could be right Don't have enough eggs to take in 12 (yet)
Hellcat
Choccy, Did you put a sign on them saying 'free - help yourselves'? stoopid question I know but...
