kazaddress
If you do.. I have found that the family box lasts Si and I for a month (so works out about £6 each for the week. I bag all the sausages / bacon / chops into bags of 2. and the roasting joints i cut into "2 peices" so they do 4 roasts. really is all lush! kazaddress
(FYI if you need insperation) >> Hiya guys. What a week L Spring is here! Garden is an array of wonderful spring colours, and I am making good progress on the Easter “trugs” J I have decorated and blown the hens eggs (the girls are making a good effort at laying 3 eggs a day). And all the flowers, seeds and herbs are all sprouting! And I am almost there with the egg cosies and egg tree’s. I received my first monthly meat box yesterday from www.Devonrose.co.uk and I am very very pleased. You can request what you would not like to receive, and they are very helpful if you have special dietary needs (my sausages are gluten fee). It works out at about £6 a week each for our meat box. I separated all the sausages / bacon / pork and lamb chops and chicken breasts into bags of 2, so they will last us for around 7 meaty meals each. The 2 large roasting joints have been cut half so that will do 4 roast dinners. And the ham and bacon bits will be used for sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes (YUM). The quality of the meat is miles better then what I have been receiving from sheepsdrove which actually put Simon off bacon (it did not taste very nice at all). Loose 7lb by Easter Challenge: http://www.the-billingtons.co.uk/challenge_list.asp everyone is doing really well! Guest
Would love to try this, but it's too far away. I always try to get local produce whenever I can now after reading an article about food miles. One of the most shocking things was a breakfast that took over 17,000 air miles to get from grower/producer to plate I get a weekly veg and fruit box that delivers from Shropshire and we are lucky enough to have a really good local butcher. PS I am new to this forum and hope you are feeling well after your recent bout of illness
kazaddress
hiya thankyou. im having some more tests tomorrow and wednesday. as for food miles, thats what made me choose devonrose. ok so its in devon.. but all the animals are all so well treated. Richard who runs the place is a lovely young chap, and he delivers the box on his way to london bless him. I get all the rest of my orgnanic produce from the local organic shop (2 miles away). but their organic meat was truely awfull (sheepsdrove farm). so decided to switch to devonrose (and how could i resist their apple smoked bacon)

Cinnamon
I thought bengals were a breed of tiger . You are right Martin The cat breed is named Bengal as the cats have very distinct markings - like a little tiger Photos to follow in a couple of weeks. Guest
That is encouraging Kaz. I followed your suggestion and ordered a box from Devonrose this morning, unfortunately before I read this thread, so I won't get my free bacon. Maybe next month.
