What have you sowed this week?

Recommended Posts

I have zuchinni and black beauty too! Yes, just like squash, same family (I think) They are greedy feeders and can be grown on a compost heap - not tried that myself though. I grew them in the ground last year, but have grown them in a grow bag before too.

Have I mentioned I love courgettes?

I've planted some limbing french beans, courgettes and climbing Kuri Squash today.

My lovely Hubbie has just done me a link-a-bord 1mx1m raised bed in the garden for me to look after too.

Canes have gone up against the fence for some runner beans. I used to grow these at the back of my border in my old house as they are so incredibly pretty!

Did you know that they were originally used in Europe as decorative plants? (read about that at the weekend!!!!)

Found this years seed at the bottom of the seed box, we will sow them alongside the plants of Blue lake that we bought 12 of for £1 today and they can take over when the first lot finish.

We had a big garden afternoon today,

we have sown,

loads of lettuce different types

radishes

spring onions

more sprouts because the first lot were a bit weedy

a few flowers a bit late

some flower bulbs also rather late

pumpkins

planted up quite a few pots and hung up the flower and tomato hanging baskets out of chicken reach.

My kinda day :D

Phew, thank goodness we went to the allotment yesterday instead of leaving it till today  ! It's chucking it down out there now!! While the sun was shining yesterday we planted out 9 rows of red onion sets, 3 rows of white onion sets, 2 rows of overwintering peas, 1 row of spring onions and 2 rows of garlic.
