Egluntyne
Went over to Manchester today and on the way home I was delighted to spot 2 Eglus...one green one purple in a garden in the High Lane area on the way to Disley. Do they belong to anyone on the forum?

And since coming back off holiday I have heard a cockeral from my garden that I couldn't hear before , its quite a way away but that is to be investigated!!! Guest
I keep my eyes peeled, especially on trains, when you can see into people's back gardens - but sadly no eglus espied yet!

Interesting that you should say that. I've thought a few times in the last month or so that I could hear a cockerel even though we are in an urban setting. We are a 10-15 min walk from ** Whirlow Hall Farm Trust** and I imagine that they have the nearest cockerels, but I've never heard them before. Maybe the wind has changed. Olly
can't answer the question, but yes I'm also glad I am not the only one who plays eglu-spotting! And isn't it weird how suddenly chickens are everywhere, I never noticed them before. and am I the only who shouts 'CHICKENS' when they see them? Ain't Nobody Here
and am I the only who shouts 'CHICKENS' when they see them? Yes! They seem to be in every film or TV programme I watch too . I spotted a green eglu in a caravan park on holiday in Fort William a few weeks ago. I was excited even if my family wasn't .

Seagazer
I saw the 2 eglus at the Rare Breeds Farm in Woodchurch last weekend. I was very excited..... perhaps too excited. I really do think my family are worried!
Chicken Licken
Just remember it doesn't make you a bad person. There are much worse hobbies to have
Stevie
Havent seen another Eglu, but i do hear clucking going on in various places when i walk my dog early in the morning and theres no background noises so shows chicken keeping is popular. jackiepoppies
Hi Seagazer, my son saw the Eglus at Woodchurch as well. Brought home a brochure, showed me when we were in UK [for birth of grandaughter] and I was hooked! Have ordered my purple cube today which hopefully I'll collect on next trip at end of May! I kept hearing a cockerel crowing from the next road - turns out it is a house that backs onto mine and the owner is a mum at the school. Well if she can do it......
