feemcg
I have a ceramic dull emitter bulb which gives off heat, no light so the chicks get natural day and night time. I've heard that chicks under a bright light 24 hours a day can get agitated and start feather-pecking. Is it an ordinary bulb or infrared you're using? I've got a heat pad now from the Agricultural store. Which is good, expensive though. I haven't noticed any feather pecking but i'll watch out for it. Where was the cereamic one from? xxx

fairy&cake
I'll have to post todays , tomorrow. Ross has left the camera at work, No change really, all in the broder, and happy, sem to be getting more lively now. I wonder if you can put small perches in the brooder? They are beautiful, i already have my favourite, the smallest one, whos a bantam and she /he is the yellow-ist aswell. They are so lovely, i could hold them all day, i got one out of the brooder for a minute today, the eldest one, and it chirped at me and pecked my finger. superjules
Chicks shouldn't perch - it distorts their breastbone.

Ziggy
We are a keen audience... patiently waiting to see how they're doing... Can we have a word with Ross about how crucial it is right now to leave the camera right by the little fluff balls?
