FruitandNutCake
OK, it was a nice afternoon, and I really wanted to go for a drive to look at some chickens and I took a box (just in case!) And I came back with 3 lovely girls aged about 20 weeks, and very friendly! Still deciding on names! The white one is the most outgoing - first to checkout the food bowl then there is the brown one and finally a grey one who was last to venture out
Ain't Nobody Here
They're lovely . How wise to take a box with you when you went to "look at" chickens .
Egluntyne
Lovely girls. From the look of their headgear you shouldn't have toooo long to wait for eggs. Have fun choosing the names!

FruitandNutCake
So far so good. The rabbits ran away from them to start, but then came and had a sniff! One rabbit escaped from the run to get away, but I got him back in, and they are getting along fine at the moment. I have a hutch in the 8x6 shed in case I need to shut the chickens up, but they also have roosting bars (about 2ft by 18 inches - slatted) or they can just roost on the shed floor (which I have now covered with aubios. The rabbits have always had the run of the shed at night, so I don't know whether they will hide in the hutch, or on top of the hutch, or snuggle up with the chickens! I'll have to have a peek through the window by torchlight to see what they do? Now I wish I had night vision cctv! They appear to be healthy, although one does appear to have a bit of sloppy yellow poo, but hoping that is just down to the stress of the move that will clear up. FruitandNutCake
We now have names - the white one is Bonza, the grey one is Chuck - from the song "When I'm 64" and the brown one is Fair Dinkum ( I didn't come up with the names!) FruitandNutCake
Thanks. Dinks gave me a bit of a scare as I was watching them through the shed window and she decided to try to fly at the window So I thought it best to confine them for the night. I was a bit worried about whether they would fit in the hutch (as a temporary measure). They seemed so big when I put them in and closed the door on them. But I've just checked and they are all laying down and look much flatter and smaller. Although I wanted them to share the 6x8 shed with the rabbits at night, I wasn't sure if they would disturb each other during the night. The rabbits are more scared of the chickens! The rabbits are now laying on their cushions on top of their cage.

FruitandNutCake
Thanks, the names came from my 7 year old! Just got up early to let the girls out of the hutch and into the shed and run. Opened the door and they just sat there and looked at me. Bless them, I don't think they know what to do yet! The rabbits ran straight out into the run (time for a good dig!) so I'm hoping the girls will soon learn that they can play in the run too. Mutrix Farmers
The girls look fabulous. I'm sure they'll sort the rabbits out, after all just look at those beaks and talons (or paws as OH insists on calling them. )
FruitandNutCake
You have a Bluebelle with an orange chest like my Bizmillah!!! Outstanding! Oh that's what she's called! I was just told she was a BBG! I'm sure they'll sort the rabbits out That's what I'm worried about! My little bugsy is so soft and cuddly and wouldn't hurt the chickens, and he gets pecked as soon as he hops by! Dinks took a chunk out of his fir, and almost had his eye. The rabbits are trying to keep out of the way! I would let the rabbits out of the run, but they might not want to go back in!
