The Battery Hen Welfare Trust needs you!

So could this rule be changed if we already have hens ?

Although I do understand that will make a lot more admin work if people start taking one or two rather than three.

Problem you have is it wouldn't be fair to put the ex batteries in with the existing girls, due to injury and feather loss for example.

I thought you might say that :(

Anyhow - my Mum is retired and currently sort of living in two places. One near my home and the other in a lovely cottage in north Wales, where she is spending more and more time (particularly now there is broadband  ). There is loads of room there and she wants to get chooks when she is there more often than not - so I have her in line for a Mark III (red eglu) which could then fit loads ( :?::!: ) of battery PPGNR in. They would have acres of space to wander round in :D . I will keep working on her, probably won't be for a year or so though....

Hey Hon, the girls are back in town (as GRD said).

I had a great time at Mel's on Monday, her OH really is lovely IS HE??!?!?!?!, and Minky is as mad as she says He is!!! do you still have all your fingers intact???? I hope that they can come to the rescue too.

Paul cant come as he will be working - I will see we have friends coming that day for the weekend so depends on what time they come down (and whether they would like to stay in a clean house and have a lovely meal cooked  )

I have had a good day. Just been told a piece I have written about battery hens and how they changed my life is going to be published in Organic Life Magazine in August. I am thrilled, Jane has checked it's ok and given me the thumbs up so that's my headache gone. Omlet get a nice mention or 3 so I hope that pleases them and I get to talk about my work and how the girls have influenced that.

I had to get it submitted by the weekend and have spent about 5 hours on it again today. I need a glass of wine!
