Boris70
Hi, Has anyone got a space saving water butt? We want to install one in the garden but they all look huge. Does anyone know of a small one? Thanks
ali-s
Hi I have seen a slimline one, but can't for the life of me remember where I'll check my magazine rack as it must have been in a magazine or catalogue. Back in a mo.

Lesley
Thanks for that link Ali - I wondered where we could get a water butt pump and they have one.
ali-s
Did anyone see Gardeners World on Friday? Monty Don did a piece on water butts. Some councils especially in the South of England where there is a shortage of water are offtering free or cheap water butts. He also mentioned a few water companies do this as well. Boris70
Just checked the water company - and of course - no free water butts where we live, I've had a look at crocus, what a great website - I didn't know you could get wall mounted water butts, or ones that looked so pretty. Thanks again, Vicki
Chicken on a mission
We had a special offer on water butts on our last water bill. They are blooming lucky we read it at all!

Hellcat
Ferndale Lodge do one that looks similar to Buffies. www.ferndale-lodge.co.uk
Lesley
I use Harrod Hoticultural a lot - they are very efficient and friendly. We had three of those butts - we didn't connect them as we are hoping to move soon. You'd be amazed at how much rainwater they collect even without being connected. Hellcat
The children have a playhouse (santa was VERY generous this year!!) and we are rigging up some guttering along the big roof side, so we can have another butt. I am still looking at grey water collection, but its proving too costly just now.
Richard and Jo
Southern water are doing a deal on water butts but due to high demand there is a 6 week wait - I tried to buy one this weekend and Wickes and B&Q are sold out completely! If you put water butt as a serarch in google it comes up with a few suppliers - only £3.95 postage from www.gonegardening.com they do a slim butt - I prefer a bit of meat on mine
Hellcat
Its the OH here, don't tell her i've been butt (ha ha) if you want a decent water butt for not an awful lot of money, there is a small one in wilkinsons for less than £20 and a much larger one i was looking at today in wickes for £21.99. Probably going to get the latter in the next few days to add to the two I already have. Far too many downpipes. I wasn't here.. "Ooops, word censored!"ody saw me; I'll deny everything! motherhen
I'll kill him! I wouldn't go quite that far Helen - he did start off by saying he was the OH, so I think we can forgive him. At least he didn't introduce himself as a LSOH!
Hellcat
Having had a discussion about it over a rather nice meal out last night, he has agreed to get his own log in, and not to be rude to me! You really don't need the familial bickering to spill over on to this site!
Richard and Jo
There is a stigma about Wilkinsons - one opened up in Epsom and evryone said that its awful but it is amazingly cheap and now always very busy
ali-s
I love Wilkinsons. Unfortunately none in Scotland. It is one the shops I have to visit when I go to visit my parents in Nottingham.
Hellcat
Its true its cheap and they really do sell some nasty tat, but you can get some real bargains and I always go in for a browse when we're in town. Never know what you'll find... Lidl and Aldi have the same stigma but the same applies, really. has anyone come across a shop caled Tchibo? just recently opened in Yeovil and they have some great stuff in there, it changes weekly so new things to look at all the time. Fab! Good prices too.
