abwsco
Here are some pics of our six chickens from yesterdays Lancashire BHWT rescue. We've got 5 in various stages of floppy combs and baldness and one who nearly looks like a normal chicken. Unfortunately it's not been good weather today so they haven't all been out into the run but it's been lovely to watch them stretching their wings and preening themselves. Oh, and they all laid an egg today as well. We've also all been checking on them throughout the day as well and checking before we've got 3 crammed into one nestbox for the night - lol
Mrs Frugal
They're lovely and they look pretty well feathered too, bless them . Won't be long before they're hale and hearty with a bit of TLC. Well done to you for giving them some freedom at last .

abwsco
Thanks everyone super photos - I love the bottom one! Edna had been put in the run for 10 minutes to stop her attacking the smallest one (so it could get something to eat and drink) and she wanted to get back in so wasn't happy. I think she looks like she's trying to work out how she can get back in.
Abbey Road Girl
Good for you! Loved all the pics, but of course the hen using her tiny but mighty brain is special! (You might want to use an easier name in the forum--abwsco may mean something to you but it's dern hard for us to use!)

Your hen house looks VERY posh- is it stained inside as well ? very nice , needs a bit of chicken poo on it to scruff it up a bit, sure the girls will oblige

They've already started to scruff it up with the poo - didn't look pristine for long! They've all been out in the run today and have discovered grass, plants and scratching for bugs You wouldn't think that they were in cages on Saturday.
