Spike-J
I try to buy organic or fairtrade clothes where I can, even if means buying less as they tend to be more expensive. Although I have found lots of organic cotton baby clothes I am having difficulty with clothes for my 5yr old boy. Any suggestions? Lesley
I know that places like M&S are selling adult Fair Trade clothes.........perhaps they also include them in the children's range?
Tina C
I got some of my daughter's school shirts from M&S because they were Fair Trade - but they are not organic. I am guilty of not going far enough down that road I am afraid
Charlottechicken
www.cleanslateclothing.co.uk sell organic and fair trade school uniforms but are closing down due to supply problems. www.naturalcollection.com www.greenfibres.com and www.ptree.co.uk all have a limited range of childrens clothing. Hope that helps

Spike-J
thanks everyone. I noticed occasional clothes in M&S and Next but poor selection. have got natural collection catalogue but some of the other websites are new to me and will give them a go. spike-j
SAB
It is a real problem finding good organic kids clothes at reasonable price, especially for age 5 upwards - sometimes I have struck lucky on ebay. It may be worth you checking with places (like M+S) who do fair trade clothing as generally fair trade items have to meet strict guidelines around workers safety and so are either organic or at least leaning in that direction. Try M+S website as there are a few more there now than in past and they have committment to increase their organic range - but need to increase organic cotton fields to meet demand first. People Tree do limited range and are expensive, but worth looking out for their sales and "lucky dip" boxes (be fast as these go quick). Spike-J
Thanks for all the replies. I have come across some of the websites but not all. I unfortunately find postage on some sites a bit too expensive as I live in Northern Ireland and some sites charge more for here. Never thought of ebay- I've only ordered a few toys for christmas so am still exploring ebay! Spike-j
TAJ
http://www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/index.php Seasalt based in Cornwall do lovely childrens & adults organic cotton clothes. They have many shops in Cornwall and if you are ever near Falmouth they have a factory unit open at weekends for real bargins. They also sell fleece products made from recycled plastic bottles. There stuff is also sold at the Eden project. Tracy

AJuff
We love Howies organic clothing. I heard that they are in talks about fairtrade. It's expensive but washes incredibly well. We now have less clothes but better quality and less damaging.
SAB
Very good point AJuff - if things are more expensive but less damaging to the environment/wildlife and non-explotative to humans then we tend to just buy less of them. It is only in recent years that society has become so throwaway, so this is in many was a return to older, and better, values.
oatley
You could try Hannah Andersson in the USA - I know it is a long way but they do deliver to the UK AND they sell the most comfortable underwear imn the world (according to my children!)
