How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

We're going to grow potatos again this year. Normally we eat lots of jackets, chips, and use large spuds for mash. Does anyone know what variety grows large and is good for these uses?

Maris Piper - i know you can buy them in supermarkets too but they are a good 'all round' spud. Chip, roast, mash etc

 

Im growing them again this year along with Charlotte as salad spuds.

 

In fact you have just reminded me - i need to check up in them tomorrow!

I stumbled across another site as well the other day......I'd bought some potatoes called Vivaldi and Googled it to see if I could buy any seed potato.

 

Try Googling Vivaldi Potato anyway - it is very interesting

OMG I'm growing the same ones - I love Charlottes and always use Maris for roasting! Mind you I havn't actually sowed any of the Maris yet.

We've grown Maris before and theyve never grown huge. Not jacket size anyway. I would say there were a medium size potato

We've got Cara and Sante to put in today in the main plot and we have Charlotte to put in one of the veggie beds near the house. Lauren and Jake will be having a large pot each to put some Charlottes in.

not to be patronising but jamie told me (and all the world ) that if you find a spud you really like to keep a couple back and put them in the ground, so i brought some baking potatoes i liked and did that- of course i dont actually know the results yet

I haven't grown them, but I find Saxon to be an excellent baking potato.

I like Desiree & grew them last year.....they were fab (they are pink skinned & look so pretty too)

 

This year I am doing Swift,Charlotte & Maris Peer as that is what was provided with my sacks.

 

BUT, where I have the Desirees in last year I have noticed a few shoots. I guess a teeny pot must have been left in & they have sprouted - anyone else had this & will they be OK to use do you think?

Luckily its in my Garlic bed,which will be pulled in a month or so,so they will get plenty of space

The 2 varieties that we grow every year are

 

Maris Piper - good flavour and can be used for most things

Picasso - grow quite big have pink eyes and keep well although last year these all split in the ground which made them hard to peel it must have been the dry spring followed by the wet summer because it has never happened before

 

Plus we try a couple of new ones each year

We emptied one of our potato sacks on Sunday and it had about 10 about half the size of an egg.They were tasty but few and far between
