Chickvic
Have just witnessed the most hilarious and disgusting chicken antics! Whilst rooting around Opal managed to unearth a frog! What ensued was comical / gross. Pearl and Ruby spotted her lucky find and gave chase after a few rounds of tug - of - war Pearl emerged victorious! There were a few more tussles over the poor frog until Pearl decided no - one was getting it off her again and managed to swallow it whole! DD was totally grossed out as she was eating her dinner, DS found it highly amusing and thought it was . At one point we did shut the patio door as Opal legged it straight up the garden towards the house with the frog dangling by one leg! No - one wants to see if Pearl has a full crop... Reynard
When we last had chickens one of the warrens found a baby bird that had fallen out of a nest - before I could intervene it was swallowed whole. They are definitely not vegetarians! I read somewhere that they have proved chickens are descendants of T-Rex.... must be in the genes.... Duckmomma
Baby our Indian runner duck was helping me in the garden today (I dig she eats ) I had been dropping all my froggy finds (about ten of them) over the fence into next doors garden (she has a pond and this is a prearranged agreement) When Baby caught site of a frog, before I could grab it she ran up and got hold of it. She promptly dropped it when it struggled and screamed. She actually had a look of disgust on her face. I swear she was thinking eeeew what was that? I thought ducks ate frogs

lindyloodles
My cat rather kindly left a dead mouse on the lawn a couple of days ago. Needless to say it was the chooks that found it and started an argument. It was only after one particularly spirited tussle whioch ended with the mouse being literally 'pinged' about 2 metres (think elastic band....) that I managed to get hold of it and dispose of it properly.
