Lesley
I've just seen a row of Eglus behind the presenter on BBC Breakfast News - she's chatting about the Eco Pod house........ Is anyone else watching the programme? - with Kevin building a house live over the next 5 days?
Guest
Mum (the anti-chicken) saw them this morning! I had the programme on last night, but I wasn't really concentrating (and I fell asleep before the end!). Mum was very excited to see the Eglus on the news - yes the anti-chicken is actually going to help out on the Omlet stand tomorrow - she's really looking forward to it. Mind you she's been mentioning a second cube lately.....
Tina C
OOOhhhh must be omlet's stand - what luck. I am helping out on Friday - shall I wave if I see the cameras???? I forgot about the programme though.

fourfinches
I'm helping next Saturday - if anyone visits do come & say hello. I helped last year too - it was good fun but I was talked out and exhausted by the end. Morag
AMO
There are two Eglus outside the Eco house but the main Omlet stand is just inside the garden section with a huge display of a cube and 3 other Eglus. We had a brill day there on Saturday and the time just flew by.

Guest
do you get paid for helping out?
theherd123
I believe Omlet look for willing volunteers to 'talk chicken' for the day but they do shout you lunch
Aunty e
I did Monday, which was ace, although my feet hurt SO much by the time I got home. Then Johannes had to stop by my house to pick up the cash box and had a quick peek at our set up. I was a bit embarassed at my grubby cube, filled to the brim with chickens, but he was very nice about it! I'm really looking forward to helping out again on Saturday. Apparently there are a few of us as they expect it to be REALLY busy.
ubereglu
I hadn't noticed that, but have been watching Grand Designs Live with keen interest as I just love the program!

Tina C
And didn't we have a great time? If anyone was watching the show last night and saw an omlet t-shirt in the crowd that was us just before we sloped off home rather later than planned... Didn't get much time to chat during the day but we made up for it over a couple of beers later Rhapsody is lovely and just how like I imagined her to be from her posts on the forum. Also met Fiona from Bath who does not come on the forum a great deal, and - briefly - Johannes who breezed through half way into the day, took a few photos and vanished. Oh and I met a lovely couple who were very excited about going to AMO's next hen party.
AMO
Oh and I met a lovely couple who were very excited about going to AMO's next hen party. I had better scrub up well then!! Off to make lemon drizzle cake
Rhapsody
TinaC you were a right laugh and no mistake. Anyone who accepts an invitation to go for a drink so enthusiastically is alright in my book, and hey it had been a long day. What she isnt telling you is we tried to get to the bars at Canary Wharf on foot, all I can say is dont! Daftest question of the day for me (asked twice) " Does the revolving stand come with it then?"
Snowy
Daftest question of the day for me (asked twice) " Does the revolving stand come with it then?" Brilliant! (mind you, it could be the next line in chicken entertainment)
ubereglu
I can just imagine an eglu on a turning stand and an impatient chicken wanting to hop into her eglu to lay an egg!
MedusA
Can I ask who won the House of the Year? I was watching but was called away to a splinter emergency and missed the result!
ubereglu
Black Sheep house won. That was the one in the Scottish Isles somewhere in the middle of nowhere!
Lesley
I've missed the last few programmes - I'm glad it was the Black Sheep House
MedusA
Thanks ubereglu. I wanted either that one or the straw bale eco house to win. I'm glad it wasn't a "modern" one. Can't see the attraction in minimalism and stainless steel myself. Give me clutter and copper anytime!
