...like this

DH went to subway yesterday to get us both a sandwich, the girl at the counter said it would be cheaper if he bought a drink as well. He said we didn't want drinks. She said that WITHOUT a drink the sandwich would be £4.99 (it was a foot long, hey we were hungry! ) but WITH the drink it would be £3.40!!!???

So, he got the drinks too.

AND!!! If you buy 2 x 6 inch sandwiches they cost £2.99 each but if you buy a foot long and cut it in half yourself, it's £4.99 (or £3.40 with a drink!)!!!????

I do actually think the world has gone bonkers but I do like subway sandwiches

Crazy, isn't it... I guess it's nice of the girl to have pointed it out...

We went to buy a suitcase once, and there was an offer on, I can't quite remember what it was, but it seemed illogical at the time, when basically I bought a second smaller suitcase for free, and ended with a significant discount on the first... I remember standing in that shop thinking 'hang on, one bag would be so much, but using that offer, I can get a second bag (which I needed too by the way, just hadn't expected to buy it there and then as well), and then the total is less by far, than the price of the first bag bought on its own??'

We got the two bags... and got good use out of them both... but I never understood the logic of the offer...

It's funny these 'rules' isn't it. Seems silly that she didn't just have a clearance to allow customers that didn't want the drink to get it for the same price.. so they opt in or out of having the drink but dont get penalised for it....... am I making sense.. I haven't had any sleep.

(The sandwich sounds like a humdinger though.. )

A bit like when my parents come to visit me they always come by train. Once we were in the area so suggested we bring them here and they get the train back. It was cheaper for them to buy a return ticket than a one way even though they didn't need it.

I like Subway sandwiches too :) I like that you can choose size, what sort of

bread and all the different fillings. Today I went shopping, which went very well as I bought all the things I needed, walking back to the car park I passed a cafe selling hot salt beef sandwiches, I love salt beef on rye bread with mustard and a pickle on the side. Went in and bought one and it was

perfect, just the way I like them, sat in the sunshine feeling very good. When I went to pay found it was £5 :shock: most expensive sandwich I ever had

ours must be a good branch then as they put so much filling in, as soon as you take a bite, it falls out everywhere!

I love the honey oat bread and the BMT sandwich is the best one they do, IMO

It's a treat for us though rather than a regular thing, And, I'd much rather go there than McDonalds.

As I've got a stinking cold, I thought we deserved a treat ;)

DH made us both some gorgeous sandwiches for lunch today though with Bea's 1st 2 eggs!
