Sweet Peas

Recommended Posts

i used to grow sweet peas when i was little, lovely flowers. These days though, to get into my garden, it has to be edible! The girls are excused, of course!

I've got some more ready to flower in that colourway too and some fuschia ones just showing their colour! Hopefully I shall have some more this week.

Mine haven't got chickened as they're on the veg patch which has safely been fenced off!

Talking about scented flowers, I have a bunch of lilies of the valley from the garden indoors and the whole house smells gorgeous!

Spooky! My mum pulled some up from my garden today and the house smells lovely apparently! (still have a blocked nose )

I didn't even know I had them in my garden :lol::lol:

My sweetpeas were planted earlier than I usually do. What was described as 10 plants from B & Q but each square had at least 6 plants in it so i had loads. I planted then in March and they are now about 18 inches high, I've lost some but still have plenty.

Well done Liz on your first flower, did you plant them direct or in pots first, and when did they go out?

growing sweetpeas among your runner beans ensures good pollination (which is why you see so many on allotments) particularly useful in the dry hot summers we've been getting of late.
