Valkyrie
Anthony Worral (whatever he his) was on BBc radio Berkshire yesterday. He was singing the praises of having your own hens and he said that the best way was to have a really newly laid egg and while it is still warm, put butter over the shell. The butter melts and then you boil it. Apparently the egg is lovely and buttery. I was drooling while driving!

*mummy_hen*
Hehe - OH was laughing at your comments over the number of soldiers. It certainly was yummy and the little darlings have given us 3 more eggs this morning so could become a regular thing
Chicken Licken
Before I kept chooks I would never have thought of a boiled egg and soldiers for breakfast. Now I consider it to be a real treat on sunday morning to have a fresh egg and soldiers and read the paper - yours looks fab. Yum - and they are so much nicer when they are fresh and you know who has laid them.
