I-Pod

Recommended Posts

Before I finally lose my patience and throw it through the window! Will somebody PLEASE tell me how to put cd's onto my I-POD? it's driving me nuts. I've wiped it twice and then somehow managed to put everything back on it.

All I want to do is be able to put cd's on and get rid of songs that I don't want anymore.

Please help!

Are you using itunes?

If so, you need to make sure the songs you don't want are unselected (ie don't have a tick next to them) and then when syncing your ipod you need to select in the 'music' tab that it should only sync selected songs.

Alternatively, if you have uploaded your CDs and made them all playlists then when syncing, just select the playlists you want on your ipod and nothing else.

Hope that's clear :?

Good Luck!

:? Really surprised to read this - I'm on my second iPod, I love mine and have found it very easy to use through iTunes.

Sorry I can't offer much help lisa, as I am not very techie, I just follow the instructions on the iTunes page and its always worked for me.

You need Fred, I bet he will know the answer.

It wasn't that we found it difficult to use (I'm an untechnonumpty, if I say so myself!). It was more than it kept hanging for no apparent reason and even if we managed to get it running again (I used all the forums and the Apple website & became an expert on ipods and their problems  ) it would do it again.

And this was a replacement ipod as the one I bought for my son's Christmas didn't work AT ALL, so it had to be sent back (losing the free engraving in the process  ).

I loved the idea and the look of the ipod but their customer service was non-existent and, judging by the forums, there were an awful lot of people out there whose ipods were faulty.

I'm glad it's not just me that's been driven mad by my i-pod. My main problem is that OH and me both use the same computer to update our ipods, so I end up with all his awful music on my i-pod, which I really don't want!!! I had a few other problems, and have now given up with it for a while.

I have both a shuffle for the gym and one of the 60GB video ipods which I love - I recently downloaded a converter program for converting video to MP4 (ipod) format so I can watch tv programs and films on it - is great for long journeys :D My 60GB one is a few years old now and I've never had a problem with it and always found itunes really easy to use. I just copy the CD to itunes and it adds it to my ipod automatically. My shuffle I have connected also and just manually add stuff to that by click and draging rather than having an automatic fill. This seems to work really well.

To Basset - if you hook up your ipod to the computer and change its settings so that it doesn't automatically fill yours up, you can keep a playlist of just your music and update just that so you dont get your OH's music also.

My MP3 player is a Samsung rather than an ipod, but it couldn't be easier to load the tracks I want onto it - even Rosie can do it, just have two windows open, one showing the tracks as stored on the computer, one showing the tracks stored ont he MP3 player, then just drag the tracks you want onto the player, or delete the ones you don't want.

I have an ancient Creative Zen, about the size of an old cassette walkman! But it's been brilliant and so sturdy, it still works after four years and being hit by a car, as well as being dropped about a million times :) I'll be sticking with Creative when I eventually upgrade.
