hils78
Today I've seen a new move from all 3 bantams - they kind of flop on one side & stretch their upper wing out with their foot underneath! are they sunbathing?! I saw Belina do it first then the other 2 just copied her Any ideas?
Egluntyne
Yes....they love it. They stretch the wing in an effort to cool down.
Hen Watch
Definately sun bathing. Mine do it to and once one starts the rest generally follow. Sometimes they "purr" as well with their eyes shut.
Hen Watch
Here's my 2 gingernuts sunbathing. Looks a bit funny because she's got her clipped wing extended.
hils78
Thats the one! its so funny to see one do it & the rest follow Bless their little feathery toes!
Cinnamon
The other hot weather move I love is when they stand like a gunslinger ready to shoot. They sort of hold their wings away from the body,to try & get cooler air there
farrowy
Yep! heh heh - Mrs Weasley loves to plop herself down, one leg out, for a good old sunbathe!!!!

*mummy_hen*
Yep - one of my favourite sites
jomaxsmith
My black hen does this - just seems to flop and deflate, but my white one does the gunslinger thing. My little red hen just stays alert in case she misses something edible! Jo
