Sheilaz
...when's that likely to be then, Martin, I was just wondering?....I'm torn between hoping it's the 31st so that I win, or very, very soon, for obvious reasons!
Martin B
Only ??? days to go!
chocchick
??? days to go. Hmm that means it's May the 100th, unless you've gone into 014 (for the 14th) numbering You'll have to put a picture of the koi on, sounds cool.
AnnieP
Ah, but what if its a tie for first place? Do we have to share the chocolate?
Martin B
It doesn't matter, how many people win! They'll get the same amount! I will just go and take a picture of the fish to show you. In the end I chose 2 ghost koi, 1 normal goldfish, 1 subamarturan, and a golden tench! They look reall pretty in the fountain!

Martin B
How big is your garden Not very big. Big enough for 3 or 4 eglus, a fountain, 2 sunloungers a table and a rabbit hutch!
Sheilaz
I like the description, Martin. No need to bother with tape measures or football pitch size comparisons, we can measure an area in Eglus! PS. As a parent, remember, it's just one for you though, Martin.
236 OCU
The reason I asked how big the garden was is because Herons are the biggest predators of Pond Fish, however they do need a clear run in to land so if the garden is largeish you need to place obstacles in the way or place netting over the pond. Martin B
They're so difficult to spot, they belnd in really well with the surroundings. I can't take a picture because I don't know where the camera is. I will try to look for it tomorrow!
236 OCU
We go and get the fishes tomorrow! How are they settling in
Martin B
Overnight the ghost carp jumped out of it's compartment into the one below. We have put netting over them now!
236 OCU
Hope you enjoy them as much as we do ours They will feed from your fingers if you feed them the floating sticks rather than flakes Just hold the sticks in the water they will soon learn. Have fun
Martin B
Ihave just fed them, but they are a bit wary of us at the moment! We do have floating sticks!
236 OCU
I find that the clearer the water the better they respond to you . You would think it would be the other way round, but they obviously feel that if they can see that you are not a predator they somehow feel safer
Martin B
I think it'll be fine they're just a bit edgy.
