Emma&lewie
Hi all. My darling hubby has just suprised me by buying me a very long awaited chicken house and we hope to get our chooks next weekend. Unfortunatly due to lack of funds we just couldnt stretch to an eglu (new or second hand) I didnt think we'd be able to afford chickens this year at all, so am very excited!! however as its an ark not an eglu from omlet I just wondered if it was still ok for me to post on this forum? Snowy
A love of chickens is all that is required (and the ability to turn a blind eye when we all start raving about how wonderful eglus/cubes/omlet are )

Emma&lewie
thats brilliant thank you all, as soon as I get the coop--- problem with ebay shop!! (should have saved for an eglu after all!!! ) so really hoping to get it this week and girls at the weekend!! I will put a few pics up. If I treat the wood how long should I wait before getting the chickens? obviously dont want sticky or high hens!!! !!! ps I love the home made coop- BarbaraJ very impressive. wish we were that handy!! Willow
you don't even need to have chickens to post on here ! just to like the idea. I think those of us with eglu's get so fed up of the negative (ignorant) comments we sometimes get from people on other fora who don't like them we should be the last people to make anything other than positive comments on other peoples set up. And if you do get an eglu in time the ark will always be useful for new introductions/sick chickens
Lesley
I like to think we've always welcomed people on here, whatever their set-up It makes me laugh on 'another forum' that whenever the subject of Eglus is raised.......and it kicks off with all the nastiness, as it always does...........if you scroll down the rest of the Poultry page you will always find at least three topics about red mite! If they just stepped back and looked at themselves....... - no need for the nastiness We have both wooden sheds and lots of Eglus....
