things small children need to learn

Recommended Posts

I have been busy this week making a birthday cake for a friend , had almost finished and suddenly thought oh I really must check if Gina and Diana have had their babies yet , I left almost assembled cake for just 5 minutes , it is a cake like a computer and has lots of sugar icing accessories including a pen pot, all of which were dry and ready to put on the board, came back ... no pen pot, no small child , after frantic search small child points at bin........................ sugarpaste pen pots don't wash well :( she was being helpful I know but oh I could have strangled her, new accessories are now drying :roll:

mind you with admiral timing the missing cat chose that moment to show his face which diverted us all from an explosive moment :):)

the junior assistant is on a bit of a roll at the moment, last weekend she threw the pottery lid of my favorite butter dish across the kitchen, one of those things you've had forever and know you will never replace , needless to say it shattered, although I did manage to reassemble it.. sort of. On monday she hid my purse and although I was sure I hadn't lost it by tuesday night I was equally sure I had looked every where, everywhere that is except under the soft toy in the toy pet carrier :!::!:

I know they all have their moments but she seems to be having all hers at once :!::!::!:

thankfully the cake isn't needed until tomorrow,

The cake looks amazing. Have never seen anything like it

At our last home our boiler cupboard had a slated vent. My daughter used to put playing cards in the slot, pretending it was a letterbox. She got hold of my purse one day and I thought nothing of it. I went shopping and when I came to pay, various credit cards were missing (panic!). So cancelled all said credit cards. Later the same day I checked the boiler cupboard to find said credit cards! Oh the little minx! In the same house we were changing the bathroom suite but about a week before somebody was playing with the bath plug and that was the last we saw of it! Even when we moved, we never found it when we were packing :?

Don’t you just love em :D

well today the little darling firstly got a stool and managed to reach the buttons on the fridge control panel and switch fridge and freezer off , she had also managed to get her hands on Murdo's car key which I found newly washed in her jeans pocket :!::!: this is the child who doesn't like to leave the house unless she has a phone , some keys and a credit card in her possesion :roll: as she has none of these yet she has to help herself to ours :!::!:

I should think most of us have these type of stories. :? I once turned the whole house upside down looking for my bunch of keys (you know, the bunch with all your important keys on) and eventually found them between the two panels of a double radiator!! I think little fingers helped them to get there.

Another time I found some writing on the wallpaper in the downstairs loo and went out and said to the girls, "If I had seen that before we went swimming, we wouldn't have gone!!" One little voice piped up, "It wasn't there before we went swimming!" What a giveaway!!!!
