The Dogmother
Dear All, we have a 'local-ish Omleteers' get-together on Saturday 12 November at the National Herb Centre nr Banbury. Having pigged out on their home-made cake, we had a photo taken near their chickens. L-R Clare Taylor and Rosie, Chunkin & Kit, Ruth, Kay Haggie with Sarah and Lucy,Buffie, Gallina, Sheila and Lesley Here we are: We are trying to persuade the Omlet lads that they really ought to have an official Omlet get-together somewhere central next summer! ali-s
Thanks Trish. I have taken a peek. Good idea to post which page they are on. I often go to the gallery, see there has been changes to an album, and then I have no idea which page I will find the new pictures. There are so many pages to trawl through. I have still not managed to work out how to post pictures here.
chocchick
Kate, should I be able to login to the gallery section, cos I can't........... Don't know if need to do this yet as can't get photos to other half's laptop at the moment
The Dogmother
You don't usually need to log in on the gallery to do anything and that includes posting your photos. You get extra admin rights if you do log in, but I understand that you need to use a different log in from your forum one. happy days! buffie
Araucana and lace wyandotte BBx
The Dogmother
Wow, is she supposed to lay blue eggs then? Is she a bantam then? One of my girlies (Ruby) is a silver laced wyandotte bantam and they are stunning (at the back in this shot). I would really love to get a blue egg layer, and if this chappie of yours breeds them, then I would be interested.
buffie
The fluffy head is araucana (it's not all fluffed up yet) and the lace is the silver pattern. She is rather unusual with a pea comb (just edited and think that's what it is) but that's usual for her cross. She is sweet and named after an unusual one eyed cat I had years ago, beautiful little thing was a silver colour and always wanted to sit on your knee or shoulders. Don't suppose Lottie will win the most beautiful chook competition but her nature will be beautiful I'm sure. Not wishing to offend anyone this must have happened because I'v never fancied a bantam and also never liked the fluffy chickens much to look at So I wind up with both and I will never judge a chook again!! You know the saying...You can't judge a chook by it's cover BBx Edited January 4, 2006 by Guest
buffie
Sorry Clare posted the last message and missed your reply . She should lay blue eggs he said. God your bantams are lovely! He had 2 more I could have had but I was overwhelmed and they all had slightly different colours and markings but he said she was the sweetest and would be incredibly tame, think he's right. Will discuss this when I see you!! Looking at yours the markings are the same sort of thing but the colour is a sort of pale grey from the araucana. Yours look very glam. buffie
Just looked and they are lovely. Clare have posted pics of our trip to Castle Ashby...Give a few mins and then hopefully you can view them in daisies Album Have tried to post and the computer went odd... Have to try again but may not get them on tonight BBx
The Dogmother
I had another look at Lottie and she has some of the wyandotte shape, but isn't quite so rounded and the shape of her tail looks different too. She is a lovely girl though and looks good natured - my wyandottes are a couple of tinkers! but they are lovely with it.
