Brilliant progress - well done! :D

Still can't get onto our allotments :( The allotment association and the parish council are in deep discussion about who will pay for the shed that is to be erected on site  Could be christmas at this rate

Well done with all the hard work  . We know all to well how much work it takes. :?

We have used a rotavator (a good palindrome to remember) to clear large areas in recent years owing to lack of time, but we have struggled with bind weed and couch as a result because they just get chopped up into bits and grow everywhere.

We have cleared a lot of areas by hand this year and it is looking great, I must remember to take the camera sometime.

Thanks for all your comments... have been really pleased with the progress.... but its always nice to have your efforts appreciated.

... there is a another half size plot next to me that may be coming free in the autumn winter so may have round 2 on the go....... lol

I'll take some more pics if it stops raining at the weekend lol

We have got one half plot about 25ft x 40ft and a whole plot which is about 100ft x 30ft and they are both full  we do grow all our own potatoes, carrots and onions each year so they take up a fair amount of room plus we have a big raspberry patch, asparagus bed and strawberry patch.

Did you use scaffolding planks for your raised beds...?

Rob

yes, tried to get second hand but no joy in terms of local or quantity so bought some new ones from a local company at just over £10 a board...

used treated 2 x 2 as corner posts 30cm long and decking screws to attach boards to the posts and a £10 jigsaw to cut the boards to length
