Dinkychick
Hi, have had our chickens for 12 days now and have been told that i have a cream legbar [Pecky the ginger and grey one], a legbar cross with what who knows[alfred the white one] and a mystery chicken [little strut the black one] there are a few more pics on my website blog , if anyone can help identify them id really like to know http://www.dinks-designs.com/whatsnew.htm?blogentryid=3731149
moochoo
Well if Pecky is a cream legbar cross, they're called Skylines, Columbines or Cresteds. Alfred looks like a white star and should lay some nice big white eggs. I'm not sure about Little Strut, I've seen a similar chook for sale called a magpie that was mainly black but I'm sorry I really don't know! They're all lovely though

Mutrix Farmers
Wow a pure white chicken! Won't look like that after a day dustbathing. Lovely birds though, hope someone can identify them for you. Unless they look like mine, I'm no help at all I'm afraid.
Dinkychick
Hi, thanks everyone for the nice comments and for trying to help I was told that Pecky the ginger and grey one was the cream legbar and not a cross but if she turns out to be a Columbine i wont mind hehe. I cant seem to find any white star pictures with google images [shall look on this site now duh] tired of seeing cooked chicken whenever i do a search! Alfred isnt pure white...almost but not quite she has one black tipped feather in her tail and i think one in her wing. I shall investigate this hehe. As for strut hmmm she gets more red round her neck each day... im guessing they havent got their grown up feathers yet? Its nice to have variety. Moochoo your chucks are pretty! Took a better picture of Struts face today, she really is like a black bird hehe. Thanks again for your help. Egluntyne
This is a white Star. Looks very like a grown up version of your girl. These are Columbines. Notice that one has a topnot. Can't find anything that resembles Strut. Edited July 22, 2008 by Guest
chocchick
Are they definately pure breeds, could they be crosses? The barring on the chest of Strut reminds me of a Barnevelder but I'm certainly no expert http://www.omlet.co.uk/breeds/breeds.php?breed_type=Chickens&breed=Barnevelder A Black Rock is quite common http://www.blackrockhens.co.uk/ They're incredibly cute and cuddly
Phosphorus
Strut looks a bit like a young version of my Maran cross - Charlotte - lays dark brown eggs (although she lays speckled ). Here is a piccie of Alice my white star and Charlotte. Yours will be a white star if she has white earlobes This is Alice:
Dinkychick
Thanks again people They are all lovely chicken pictures, i cant wait till mine grow up so i can see what they turn out like.... at what age do they have their 'adult' feathers? Phosphorus...Charlotte your maran coross is stunning! Alfred does have white earlobes and so does strut. Chocchick... im guessing they could all be crosses[more than likely are], the place where i got them from he was kind of vauge. Only one is meant to be a pure breed, but im not 100% sure, seeing as im a bit of a chicken breed virgin Black rocks are nice...was hoping to get some plymouth rocks originally but couldnt get them for love nor money at the moment where i live! Egluntine...thanks for the pictures, those columbines are lovely colours.
Snowy
Strut definitely has the look of a Black Rock/Mrs Pepperpot type. I think her earlobes are only white at the moment as she is so young. They will probably go red as she comes into lay (I find it really hard to get a good idea of ear colour when they are little). Whatever they are, they are lovely girls!
