Cinnamon
be sufficient to seperate my big pen into 2 halfs,so my new girls can eventually pen share with my older hens for a while, before I let them all go in together? Or is it too floppy & will they be able to 'get' at each other through the mesh? Thoughts, please.

Cinnamon
Hmmmmmmm Maybe I could double it up so it over laps or something? Unless I can think of another way to split the run that is Its the access that the problem. I used this plastic mesh fencing stuff in a roll last time & it was a nightmare to remove so I could get into the sectioned off part of the pen....... Then it fell down altogether,& I do NOT want that to happen with these little hens,as they are so young.
dancing cloud
I've not had any get over it yet (even for the lettuces on the other side) and they can stick their heads through it, but only their heads and necks. Hopefully any new girl being pecked at would soon learn to keep a afe distance

Maybe you could try using chicken wire?
